Green Moon Festival

San Andres

"The Green Moon has nuances and features very close to the magic and the islanders say that if a person dreams of the Green Moon, waking you must meet one of his greatest desires"

This festival is celebrated each year on April. The principal objective is to  commemorate the legacy of the Afro-Caribbean  heritage that the island has.

Music, art and dance are the tree words that describe this spectacular event. During the green moon festival there are several concerts around the beach and public places. The festival seeks to rescue the  cantillana culture of the island lost in the colonial time.
The island was considered for two indigenous cultures: Arawaks and the musquitos, as a sacred place, and source of food and living where they arrived only to get the gift of the gods. The island was desert and no one live over there until the colonia came and change everything and extinct indigenous cultures.
