VILLA DE LEYVA'S COMET FESTIVAL
This is a meeting when people take advantage of august winds (this moth is called comet’s month in Colombia) to give life to the most creative comets, that participate in different competitions.
This fest started in 1975 and in 1980 contestants started coming from Europe and USA. The event lasts three days in a weekend of august: on Saturday amateurs participate in categories as handcrafted comet, night flight, art comet and child comet, while on Sunday professional contestants participate in categories as individual flight, team flight, far flight and giant comets.
This is the opportunity to join families and to enjoy of a colorful show.
